 Introduction to Industrial Arts- Instructor Jamie McCarty

• Course offering: Year-long offered to freshmen and sophomores.

• Course Description:  The "Introduction to Practical Fabrication and Design" is a comprehensive introductory class designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of woodworking, construction, welding, and computer-aided design (CAD). This hands-on course aims to equip participants with essential skills and knowledge for creating tangible projects while fostering creativity, problem-solving, and an appreciation for craftsmanship.

 Woodworking 1- Instructor Jamie McCarty or Dean Johnson

• Location: Room 134 & Woods Lab 

• Course offering:  Semester offered to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.

• A fee is associated with this course

• Course Description: Woodworking 1 is an introduction to basic Woodworking.  Students will learn basic wood working skills while developing their knowledge of woodworking techniques.  

 Woodworking 2- Instructor Jamie McCarty or Dean Johnson

• Location: Room 134 & Woods Lab 

• Course offering:  Semester offered to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.

• A fee is associated with this course

• Course Description: Woodworking 2 is an intermediate Woodworking course.  Students will start to learn more advanced woodworking skills and gain an overall experience working with a variety of tools.  

• Prerequisites: Students must complete Woodworking 1

• Course offering:  Semester offered to Juniors and Seniors.

• Course Description: Woodworking 3 course "Mastering Craftsmanship Through Projects" is designed for individuals who have completed a basic woodworking class or possess equivalent skills.

• Prerequisites: Students must complete Woodworking 1

 Construction 1 & 2- Instructor Jamie McCarty or Dean Johnson

• Location: Room 134 & Woods Lab 

• Course offering:  Semester offered to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.

• Course Description: This course will introduce students to basic building concepts related to carpentry and other construction disciplines. 

Welding 1 & 2- Instructors Jamie McCarty 

• Location: Room 134 & Welding Lab

• Course offering:  Semester offered to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.

• Course Description: This course will introduce students to basic welding techniques with a focus on stick welding and MIG welding.  

Welding 3 & 4- Instructor Jamie McCarty 

• Location: Room 134 & Welding Lab

• Course offering:  Semester offered to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.

• Course Description: This course will expand on students knowledge of basic welding techniques.  Students will still focus on stick welding and MIG welding with an opportunity to learn TIG welding.  

• Prerequisites: Students must complete Welding 1 & 2

Ag Metal Fabrication- Instructor Jay Williams

• Location: Room 132 & Welding Lab

• Course offering:  Year long

• A fee is associated with this course

• Course Description: This course is a dual credit course which allows students to learn how to fabricate new and build larger projects.  

• Prerequisites: Students must complete Welding 1 & 2, and Welding 3 & 4

Ag Mechanics- Instructor Jay Williams

• Course Description: This course is a dual credit course which allows students to learn about survey, welding,  Ag technology, small engines and electricity.  

Computer Aided Drafting 1-4   Instructor Dean Johnson

• Location: Room 134

• Course offering:  Semester

• Course Description: These courses are design with engineering in mind.  Students learn to read and interpret basic blue prints while learning how to create production prints and architectural designs.  

CNC Fabrication   Instructor Jamie McCarty

• Location: Room 134

• Course offering:  Semester

• A fee is associated with this course

• Course Description: These courses are design with engineering in mind.  Students learn to create projects utilizing Computer Nematic Control software and equipment that you would find in manufacturing.   Equipment includes 3-d printers, CNC plasma table, CNC router, waterjet, laser engraver/cutter.
