Skyward Grade book: This will be the grading program used for all final grades.
Google Classroom: Google Classroom will list assignments and grades but will not calculate it like skyward. Please go to Skyward for class grades.
Categories & Percentage break downs:
Projects = 55% The Projects category consists of in-class projects such as a cutting board or welded metal joints, but please note that fully remote students will have alternative projects that will count for these assignments.
Quiz = 10% This category will consist of quizzes and homework that are not lab projects, including blueprints or drawings of projects since they are not the actual physical project. In order to have the percentage for grading correct in the grade book I had to choose only one label. I choose quizzes over homework but this label includes both.
Participation = 30% These points are given based on how students work in the Lab. This includes proper use of equipment, behavior and cleanup.
Lab(Safety) = 5% These points are given based on students following safety expectations in the lab, which include safety glasses, equipment, clothing, etc.
Late Work:
If a student does not complete their work by the initial due date they will be granted a one week extension to complete the assignment.
If completed late they will have a 15% deduction off the final grade.
If they do not complete it before the end of the extension week is over they will receive a 0% on the assignment.
Due dates:
Lab work due dates may vary due to equipment availability or maintenance. These extensions will be adjusted by the instructor.
All other due dates are to be followed unless otherwise directed by the instructor.
*Please not that fully remote students will have to complete alternative projects in order to receive points in these various categories.
