Nursing Update
I will be taking a medical leave of absence beginning on March 20th - May 5th. During my absence, Mrs. Katie Henebry, Mrs. Bryanna Roberston, and Mrs. Michelle Ronan will be covering the nurse's office in collaboration with Mrs. Aimie Keigan, the district's Nurse Leader. Please call my office at 508-242-8576 and leave a voicemail or email Katie Henebry at khenebry@email.medfield.net with any student concerns during my leave. If you have an urgent issue, you may also contact the Memorial School main office and they will forward the message to the covering nurse. Thank you!
Medications at school:
For those students who will be needing medication to be given in school during the school year (including over the counter medications), you will need a medication order signed by their primary care provider and a parent authorization, even if it is over the counter. These forms can be printed from the medication section of this website. Students are not allowed to transport medication to school. It needs to be brought to the nurse by a parent of designated adult! DO NOT SEND IN BACKPACKS! See the "Medications" tab for more information and medicine forms.
Health screenings have been completed as required by Massachusetts state regulations. If you receive a referral for your child, please make every effort to have then evaluated by their Primary care provider or specialist.
Preschool- Hearing and Vision
Kindergarten - Hearing and Vision
1st grade - Hearing , Vision and Height/Weight
*If you do not want your child to participate in health screenings, please notify the nurse in writing before they begin.
Donation needed!
The nurse's office is always happy to accept donations of kids clothing for bathroom accidents or lunch spills. New or gently used underwear or sweatpants/leggings sizes 6-8 are most in need!
Nurse Substitutes Needed…Can you help?
Substituting will offer the opportunity to learn what school nursing involves and to interact with our wonderful students. The need is sporadic, but the rewards are great! A current Massachusetts RN license is required. Duties include: tending to the health needs of the students and staff, dispensing medication, and communicating with parents. A basic orientation is provided Please speak to any of the school nurses for more information, contact the superintendent’s office for an application.
Handwashing!
Each year, I teach handwashing in the classrooms. Handwashing is very important to prevent the spread of germs! Check out my Health and Safety Tab for more information and videos on germs and handwashing technique! Here are some pictures of my visits!
