IPW: How Tech supports a student centered classroom w. Ott IN PERSON
Tue, September 19, 5:00pm – 6:30pm
In this workshop I learned about students centered learning and teachers centered learning. I learned that classrooms should be students centered not teacher centered because students don't want to sit in a classroom and listen to the boring talk of their teacher. Students should be participating, asking questions, engage in conversations, using technology for learning not for social media. A teacher centered class is boring and does not result in learning for the students. The teacher is probably using technology to save his of her time grading papers, and not for the purpose of teaching the students. This is what we as teachers should avoid. We need to have students centered classrooms! Here are the links for some of the web sites I learned about.
There are different website that can be used to create educational videos about any subject. Students can use this to make a project for any class.
Kahoot! is an online platform that is students and teachers centered. It makes practicing for quizzes fun for students.
Prezi makes slides presentations fun. It is student and also teacher centered.
Play Factile is also a student teacher centered website that allows teachers to create and use over hundreds of educational games.
