#2 Twitter Discussion: TD: Learning Objectives an Essential Questions 9/13/17
The discussion was about teaching effectively our future students. In this chat we answered questions that were focused in thinking about how we could teach according to what kids like in today's society, technology. The discussion made me realized that we really need to change the way our teachers tough us. I used to think that teaching was about giving us papers in which the students could do their work, but it is actually more complicated because if you give your students papers with activities it will not get their attention into the subject, and the student wont learn anything.
#3 CLG Discussion: Smart Boards & PowerPoint are LAME
In this discussion we talk about how PowerPoints make the lessons boring. We agreed that taking notes from a slide does not result in learning. It can, but only if the teacher engage the students in a type of discussion and not only sits in her or his desk and click next to the slides.
#4 Creating Engaging Lesson Plans Discussion (09/25/17)
In this discussion I learned about how important it is to create engaging lesson plans. Children learn better by being actively engaged with the teacher and classmates. Introducing the 4 c's should be require in order to have children actively engage in the classroom. Listening to the teacher talk or taking notes from a PowerPoint is old stuff and should be replace it. A teacher siting down at her or his desk is not doing it right because waiting for students be engaged is something that is never going to happen.
#6 Twitter chat on educational video 10/05/17
In the chat we discussed about the importance of using short, engaging, videos to teach. We talked about how instructional videos are great for teaching a subject because they can be found or make. They are a great way to learn for those kids that are visual learners and to engage the class.
#7 #cuechat Twitter Discussion 10/10/17
In this discussion we talk about technology and how we think it have helped our students and how it is also affecting them. We talk about it and this help me understand that technology is not bad for our students, what is bad is the way teachers use it. Teacher from this generation use technology in a boring way that they think help students learn, but given students a power-point won't make them learn anything. Using technology for the purpose of making a teacher centered classroom is not the idea of using technology for teaching and we should change this.
