Heartland Model United Nations (HMUN) is an immersive, educational conference designed to engage high school students in global diplomacy. Hosted annually, our conference simulates the work of the United Nations, offering students the opportunity to debate pressing international issues, develop critical thinking skills, and engage in diplomatic negotiations.
HMUN provides a challenging and transformative experience that extends learning beyond the classroom, helping students gain a deeper understanding of international relations and global affairs. Our conference fosters leadership, collaboration, and public speaking skills, preparing delegates to become the problem-solvers of tomorrow. For more details on how our conference operates and what to expect, visit our conference information page.
We are proud to offer an accessible and engaging Model UN experience for high school students. Our conference provides well-researched background materials, dedicated and knowledgeable staff, and a dynamic simulation that includes committee sessions, plenary debates, and interactive UN body simulations.
HMUN is designed to challenge both new and experienced delegates, fostering critical thinking, diplomacy, and leadership skills. Each year, we strive to create an inclusive and thought-provoking environment where students can engage in meaningful debate, develop global awareness, and collaborate to find solutions to pressing international issues.
