Seasonal Running Awards
Seasonal Awards are not Cumulative!
In addition to the individual cumulative awards, we recognize students for outstanding performances on the track during the school year. Awards are recognized by grade level, gender and school wide. Students are recognized for their efforts during the week, running season or current school year depending on the award. Check out the awards listed below Awards are displayed in the hallway entering the gym so all the students can see their amazing accomplishments.
Top 20 - Weekly Award
Top 20 are the students who ran the most laps for the week.
Laps are tallied Friday - Thursday.
The Top 20 is posted every Friday for all the students to see who ran the most for the week!
An email is also sent to the parent who gave us their email during the registration process!
26.2 Kids Marathon Award
The kids Marathon is an annual event that is held in conjunction with the PTC Classic. 2023 Race Date is October 21!
Kids must run 25 miles from the beginning of the school year prior to the race date in order to receive a special invitation to run the last 1.2 miles of the official Marathon distance of 26.2 miles.
Special invitations will be sent home the first week in October.
The race is free to all who qualify!
Students will receive a PTC Classic Marathon t-shirt and medal when they cross the finish line!
Prior to the race, the coaches and some parent volunteers will be handing out the 26.2 mileage tokens and glow necklaces to all the Peeples kids at the start line.
Our Goal is to have 150 students participate!
Peeples Kids Marathon T-shirt
We created our own marathon shirt for that special day, so we can cheer on all Peeples kids as they cross the finish line! The cost of our shirt is only $10 and it can be worn every year your child is invited to the Kid's Marathon!
Top 5 - Seasonal Award
Top 5 are the students who ran the most laps for a running season. Each running season the students must earn their way to be in the Top 5. This gives students who are new to the running club an opportunity to earn a spot in the Top 5.
Top 5 Boys and Top 5 Girls in grades 1-5 grade level are recognized...
Over the announcements and receive a Top 5 certificate
Picture and name will be displayed in the hallway coming into the gym until the next running season is completed.
Top 3 - Annual Award (Current school year)
Top 3 boy and girl runners in the school are awarded gold, silver and bronze medals for running the most laps for the Fall and Spring Running seasons combined.
Students are recognized at the at the end of year.
Picture and name will be displayed in the hallway coming into the gym.
Top Male & Female Runner - Annual Award (Current school year)
The Top Male and Female Runners for the school year earn their spot in the Peeples Hall of Fame! Every year students strive to see if they can be the top runner!
Top male and female come from the Top 3.
The Top Runner male and female will have their picture , name, grade, and total lap/miles displayed forever in the Peeples Hall of Fame.
Students are recognized in May
All Time Single Season Record Holder - Seasonal Award
All Time Single Record Holder is the best single season running total of all time for boys and girls for each grade level.
The Single Season Record Holder will have his/her picture displayed in the BEST of ALL Time section of the Peeples Hall of Fame that is located in the hall coming to the gym!
The display will have the child's name total laps/miles, running season and year it was accomplished!
Ultra Marathoner - Annual Award (Current school year)
Students who run 100 miles or more during the school year will receive their own personalized Ultra Marathon Runner's Cup with their name and total miles ran for the year!
Student's name, total miles and school year will displayed in the Peeples Hall of Fame!
Class Champs - Seasonal Award
It takes all the students in their homeroom to win this coveted award!
Students running totals for the running session are calculated and divided by the number of students who ran in their homeroom to come up with a class average.
Homeroom class averages are compared by grade level.
Grade level champs are recognized at the end of each running season!
Each grade level homeroom Champion will receive the coveted class champions certificate to display outside of their classroom for everyone to see!
Class champs will be displayed in the hallway coming into the gym until the next running season is completed.
Cross Country Champs - Monthly Award
Cross Country Champs : It takes all the students in their grade level to win this coveted award!
A report is run to see the students' running totals for the month as a class. Class total miles are compared to every homeroom in the school.
Students will see what place their homeroom came in on the list. The homeroom place values are added together for each grade level to get a total.
The grade level who has the lowest sum total is the winner and declare the Cross Champs for the month.

The teachers for the grade level who won will receive a certificate to display on their classroom door.
Golden Sneaker Award - Weekly Award
The homeroom that has the most participation for the week are declared the Golden Sneaker Award Champions!
The teacher will be awarded the Golden Sneaker certificate to display on their door.
A list is provided to all the homeroom teachers and parents weekly to the standings for the week!
All Time Class Champs - Seasonal Award
All Time Class Champs is the best class average of all time for each grade level.
The All time Class Champs have the homeroom picture displayed in the All Time Class Champs section of the Peeples Hall of Fame that is located in the hall coming to the gym!
The plaque has the class average and how many average laps per day the students completed during the running session.
Displaying the average laps per day will help the students set goals for their homeroom to be the next All Time Class Champs!
