All Kids Bike, led by the Strider Education Foundation, a non-profit organization on a mission to improve the lives of children by teaching them to ride a bike beginning in kindergarten. Kindergarten PE Learn-to-Ride Programs are placed into schools with donations and partnerships from individuals, businesses, and organizations. We want to say a huge thank you to the businesses who donated to make this program a possibility! This amazing program uses strider bikes that can be modified to add pedals. After children are proficiently balancing, pedals are attached, so that by the end they have learned to ride a bike without the need for training wheels. It’s our hope that through this your child will explore the wonderful world of bike riding and take advantage of the 100+ miles of paths contained within Peachtree City.
How you can help at home!
One of the hardest habits to break in children learning to ride a bike is dependence on training wheels. If your child’s bike still has them, remove the training wheels as soon as possible. While there may be some initial challenges, your child will learn to ride independently more quickly and with greater confidence.
We can always use volunteers!
Would you like to volunteer to help your child and others learn to ride?
You will help with putting on helmets, adjusting the seat heights and working with the kids to teach them to ride!
Below is our tentative schedule to teach each homeroom. You may help with your child's class or another class. Whatever fits your schedule is greatly appreciated!
We are using Sign up Genius to organize where help is needed and it is a great way for parents to see how they can help and plan ahead! We do take volunteering seriously. If you commit to help, we are relying on you to show up.
Volunteers need to complete the Volunteer Mandated Reporter Training every calendar school year.
All volunteers will need to check in at the front office first and then proceed to the back parking lot closest to the track.
Video clips are linked below to give you an idea of what to expect for each lesson being taught.
