Mike's Math Videos

My name is Mike Greenberg, and I'm a math instructor here at CCSF. I've made several videos of worked-out examples my algebra students to use for a bit of extra practice, and I'm happy to share these with other students. You can view videos by clicking on the topics below; however, please be aware of a few things:

  • Different instructors solve problems in different ways, so some of these solutions might look different from what you're used to. Sometimes students find this confusing. If I solve a problem very differently than you learned in class, and the video on my site is confusing, it might be better for you to get help from your instructor or from a tutor.

  • Some instructors emphasize different problems in each section, so you might find videos here that cover different types of problems that you've seen in class.

  • I recommend attempting the problem on your own first, and then watching the video solution afterward. That way you can see if you solved the problem correctly and learn from any mistakes you may have made.

  • These videos are not intended to be a replacement for actual instruction. They are meant to be a supplement. So while I do often try to explain why we use a certain method or do the specific steps we're doing, I don't always get to explain things as thoroughly as I would in a face-to-face class.

  • The list of topics has grown substantially since I began this project. If you want to find a topic, consider searching the page for the name of the topic. So, if you're looking for factoring polynomials, you could search for "factoring".
