MATH 90S Lesson 6 - Introduction to Polynomials

For the past few lessons, we've been focusing on things that are linear. We've solved linear equations and sketched graphs of linear equations. Today we're going to start looking at polynomial expressions, and we'll eventually be solving polynomial equations and sketching graphs of polynomial equations. This topic is covered quite extensively in MATH 40 and MATH 60, and so we're going to spend a couple of weeks on it here.

I have recorded several videos of worked-out example problems, which you can access at the link below. Once you start to get the hang of the problems, try them out before you watch the video to see if you're solving them correctly. And if you're not, compare your steps to those in the video to learn from your mistakes. This is a great opportunity for you to make sure you're doing each step correctly and mastering these skills!
