Late-Start MATH 90 Dates and Details

Course Dates

I will always share important course dates on this page; however, they are not always listed when registration opens. In general, please note that important dates for short-term courses are posted on the Class Schedule webpage (on the right-hand menu, it should say, "[Term] Important Dates for Short-Term Credit Classes."

Adding the Class

Students who are waitlisted may add the class once the semester begins by submitting a Class Add Request on the first day of class. I will add all students who submit this request on the first day.  I will consider adding students who submit this request later in the first week. I will not add students after the first week has finished. This is a late-start class, and since we are running on a compressed schedule, missing a single week is like missing two weeks in a regular course.

If you anticipate having issues adding the class for any reason, please let me know before the semester begins so I can help.

Dropping the Class

If you decide to discontinue this course, it is your responsibility to officially drop it to avoid getting no refund (after 10% of course length), a W symbol (after 20%), or a grade (after 60%). Also, for several consecutive, unexplained absences, the instructor may drop a student.

Please note that students attending via Free City College who drop their course after the No Refund date will be charged for the full cost of the class. Many students do not realize this and end up owing hundreds of dollars. Be responsible with adding and dropping courses!

Attendance

Students must complete homework, participate in online discusssions, and attend class every week. If a student misses two consecutive weeks of homework, discussions, or attendance, they will be given a warning. If they continue to miss homework assignments or in-person class meetings, they will be withdrawn from the course.

Students who stop participating in class or who are disruptive in any way may be withdrawn from the course without warning.
