Why is it important to read the textbook in this Calculus course?

Calculus requires understanding concepts - it is not limited to calculations. These concepts (found in the textbook) are rarely covered adequately, if at all, in videos. Our tests will assess your understanding of the concepts covered in our textbook, as well as calculations.

The test will also require that you apply the methods we have covered in our textbook. If you strongly feel against reading a math textbook, I would recommend registering for a section of math 110A that has zoom lectures or live lectures.
