Each student is assigned to a lesson group. If you do not remember your child's lesson group, please reach out to Ms. Alcaro.
Lessons rotate on a weekly basis so it is important to check the schedule every week. Students who play the violin and viola must bring their instrument and shoulder rest to school for their lesson and weekly rehearsal. Students who play the cello or bass should leave their instrument at home and use a school instrument for their lesson and weekly rehearsal. All students must bring their String Basics lesson book to every lesson.
Beginning Orchestra Practice
First year students are in the Beginning Orchestra. This ensemble teaches students how to play their instrument in a group setting with the other instruments of the orchestra.
Beginning Orchestra meets on Tuesday mornings. Students should enter through the main doors of JK between 7:45 and 7:55am. Practice begins promptly at 8:00am
String Orchestra Rehearsal
Students with at least one year of experience on their instrument are part of the String Orchestra. In this ensemble, students will continue to develop and improve upon the ensemble skills that they learned last year.
String Orchestra meets on Wednesday mornings. Students should enter through the main doors of JK between 7:45 and 7:55am. Rehearsal begins promptly at 8:00am
