Practice Tips

1. Find a quiet space that is just for practicing.

2. Make sure you have your instrument, music, rosin, and other supplies before you start.

3. Have a goal for each practice session.

4. Practice quality over quantity. It is better to spend fifteen minutes of quality practice than 30 minutes of practicing without paying attention.

Violin and Viola Bow Hold

• Keep all fingers relaxed and curved

• Thumb should stay bent

• Pinky should be curved and on top of the stick in the pinky holder

Cello Bow Hold

• Keep all fingers relaxed and curved 

• Thumb should stay bent

• Pinky should curved over the stick onto the frog of the bow
