I'd like to Welcome you to MAEA's Plein Air Event. Our event takes place at both the Spring and Fall Conferences. The following will make it easier for you to have a memorable experience participating in this popular event.
Please review the following supplies you might wish to pack, expectations (or how things work), items MAEA supplies for it's MAEA members in this event, and judging.
The event begins when registration begins and this is when you will need to have your canvas or paper stamped by the Retired Rep-Jeanette Campbell-Lage.
Artwork must be matted. MAEA does have limited available mats, and these have cut-out openings measuring 5 x 7 inches and watercolor paper that will fit this matting board. The mats are available for a small donation, otherwise please turn in your mat back to be re-used for next time.
This is a multi-media acceptable event. Watercolors, oil paint, acrylic paint, colored pencils, oil pastels, soft pastels, or ink.
Supplies for you to pack: brushes, markers, erasers, pencils, water bottle, paper towels, disposable water cups, mats for larger pieces than we provide or other. Pack your choice of medium, paper, or canvas. You might need your travel easel as well!
One submission per member.
Artwork must be turned in matted.
At the Fall Conference your Plein Aire submission must be turned in by 6 PM in the Recreation Hall.
At the Spring Conference your Plein Aire submission must be turned in before lunch on Friday to the Members' Show Area.
Check with the Retired Rep for other questions or concerns.
Good Luck!
