Daedalus spent a lot of time with Cocalous and the Sicanians and they were amazed by the superiority of his skills. Minos, the king of Crete, was the master of the sea; he was informed of Daedalus’s escape to Sicily; therefore he advanced with an army against him. He prepared superior equipment and he sailed out from Crete. In a short time he landed in the Acragantine land in the Minoic territory he called Eracleian land. He disembarked the army and he sent messangers to the king Cocalus: in fact, the latter asked for Daedalus to be punished. Cocalus invited him for a meeting and he received Minos as a friend. Therefore, while Minos was bathing, Cocalous kept Minos in the hot water for a long time and he killed him. So, Minos passed away in Sicily.
Then, we analysed the text to look for archetypes and stereotypes. You can see our content analysis here ⬇️
After reading the myth of Minos and Daedalus, we decided to reinterpret the myth in a modern version, taking inspiration from the movie” Percy Jackson and the Thunder Thief”. We created a new version of the story, where the characters live in the modern Athens, and the main protagonists are a CEO and an Hacker, respectively Minos and Daedalus. We rewrote the story in a newspaper, where a scandal is told that includes Carlos Locus, David Delus and Yorgo Minos. In our opinion this is the best way to rewrite it because we transformed a tragic myth into an episode of crime news and a scandal.
