Ancient Greece. In the story that Homer tells us, Agamemnon is about to lead up with his army against the city of Troy. But, while he is hunting, he kills a deer, holy to the goddess Artemis. Later, the goddess gets angry and she demandsthe seas to remain calm, so that it’s impossible to sail. The soothsayer Calchas says that the only way to leave is to sacrifice Iphigenia, Agamemnon's first daughter. The king doesn’t want to kill his daughter, but Odysseus and Menelaus, the king's brother, convince him that their mission is more important.
Agamemnon calls her daughter with a false pretext: she is going to marry Achilles. Iphigenia comes happily to the Achaean camp where the ceremony is supposed to take place, but there she discovers her true destiny: to be sacrificed. When Agamemnon is about to kill his daughter, Artemis saves her, substituting the girl with a deer. Then, she takes the girl in Tauris to make her a priestess.

The soothsayer Calchas says to Agamemnon: “Because Artemis is irritated, she orders, o Lord, to sacrifice the girl Iphigenia so that they could lead up". Since Agamemnon takes a long time to counsel, he is persuaded by his brother Menelaus to accept the terrible events as a matter of honour; so he sends after Iphigenia from Mycenae announcing her wedding: since she is delighted for such good luck, she sets off to the Achaeans’ camp. There, the heroes Diomedes and Odysseus drag the girl to the altar to sacrifice her. But suddenly a big deer struggles instead of the girl on the altar, while the goddess brings Iphigenia to the Taurians through the sky.

To create a modern version of our myth we needed to adopt a modality where we could represent the emotions and the thoughts of the protagonist Iphigenia in a modern way. We took example from a famous film that talks about feelings: 'Inside out', by Disney Pixar. We impersonated the characters of the myth and the emotions of Iphigenia, and we created a video that includes retelling moments of the myth and some zooms inside the head of the protagonist.
