He became a Pharaoh at the age of 9 after his father died. His father Akhenaten was a strong leader as well. He died at age 19 suddenly and many people thought he was murdered. King Tut's tomb was found untouched. All of the items were there from when Ancient Egypt buried him and when he was found in 1922 by Howard Carter.
He was not a very strong ruler because he was so young. Priests and military leaders use tut as a puppet. He was a very frail leader and had a bone disorder.

Scientist think that the poor teenager died from a severe infection or from malaria.
Tutankhamun reversed Akhenaten’s reforms early in his reign, reviving worship of the god Amun. His name was originally Tutankhaten but he changed his name to Tutankhamun. He took over the throne at age 9 after his father Akhenaten died. Tutankhamun helped restore traditional Egyptian religion and art, both of which had been set aside by his predecessor, Akhenaten. He issued a decree restoring the temples, images, personnel, and privileges of the old gods.
