The Golden Archer Award is a children's book award program managed by WEMTA whose winners are selected by Wisconsin's K-12 students.
Nominees and winners are both selected by students.Votes for the winning books in each category are due to WEMTA by March 1.
Nominees for next year are due to WEMTA by May 1.
Both votes and nominees may be collected at the same time. Sample Google Form
Ideas for promoting participation:
Read the picture book nominees aloud during class time
Create a display of the chapter book/graphic novel nominees
Provide links to Sora copies of the nominees
Share the voting Form via Google Classroom or Seesaw

Read Your Heart Out (RYHO) was started by former MMSD educator, Michelle Belnavis, as a celebration of reading to correspond with National African American Parent Involvement Day in February. See the website created by MMSD's FYCE department for more info.
Some schools have coordinated an all-school read where all classrooms read the same book aloud and do related activities and lessons to build community and foster a reading culture in their schools. In some cases, books are acquired for all students and their families. In other cases only the classroom teacher gets the book.
Madison Reading Project, Parent Teacher Groups, or other school budget funds have covered these projects. They are not eligible for CSF.
Scholastic has a long history of hosting book fairs in MMSD. Their fairs are easy to set up and run. They offer content for K-8 schools.
Barnes & Noble will set up an evening where a portion of sales (in store and online) goes to your school.
