At MacEwan, we want our visitors to explore ideas that are important to our community and our togetherness. Our goal is for children to experience the magical combination of early literacy, physical activity, and family engagement as they travel from one page in the story to the next through StoryWalk® at MacEwan University.
We aim to welcome and nourish young children's education, creativity, and curiosity. As readers walk down the trail of vibrant illustrations and installations on campus, they experience a captivating journey reflecting Edmonton's diversity. Walking within the culturally rich university and surrounding downtown area will unite people of all ages and backgrounds in this adventure.
MacEwan values connections and partnerships, and by building on the academic and children’s library services at the University, StoryWalk® at MacEwan University not only fosters a welcoming learning space but builds an energetic and inclusive downtown for all. Through the self-directed and supported teaching of StoryWalk® at MacEwan University, children find the tools for spoken and written language skills.
We want to inspire a love for stories in people of all ages, and we invite you to visit and walk the path of literacy, imagination, community, and future-building!
