StoryWalk® at MacEwan University is one of many activities in Downtown Edmonton for families to experience.
Below are some other activities and parks our community has to offer.
Stanley A. Milner Library
Stanley A. Miner Edmonton Public Library (Downtown) offers not only books and resources, but also learning experiences for individuals of all ages.
Sir Winston Churchill Square
Sir Winston Churchill Square houses many art installations, gardens and walking trails around City Hall. Tours of City Hall are also offered free of charge.
Muttart Conservatory
Edmonton's Muttart Conservatory is one of Canada's largest indoor botanical collections. Alongside the vast array of plant types, the Muttart Conservatory hosts many activities
and events for individuals of all ages.
Downtown Farmer's Market
The Edmonton Downtown Farmer's Market features many local vendors, unique learning opportunities,
and a brand new Market Library.
Victoria Park
Victoria Park features picnic areas, a baseball diamond, playground, walking trails, and so much more. During Winter months, the Victoria Skating Oval is open to the public.
Elm Tree Theatre
Elm Tree Theatre was started by theatre practitioners and professors from MacEwan University as a way to develop and present interactive theatre designed for
children ages 1-5 years old.
ArtTourYEG
ArtTourYEG provides materials for self-guided tours of Downtown Edmonton's vibrant art community.
Art Gallery of Alberta
The Art Gallery of Alberta showcases many different exhibitions, often featuring Canadian artists. The Art Gallery of Alberta also hosts activities and events for individuals of all ages. Alberta students and those under 18 receive free admission.
Royal Alberta Museum
The Royal Alberta Museum has various collections, such as cultural studies, earth sciences, life sciences and conservation. They also hold classes, summer camps and other programs.
Alberta Legislature Building
The Alberta Legislature Building is surrounded by winding walking trails and greenery. The Borealis Gallery, Pehonan Theatre, Democracy Discovery Centre and free guided tours of the building are available to visitors.
Emily Murphy Park
Emily Murphy Park hosts many festivals and events throughout the year. In the park, you can also find picnic sites, viewpoints near the river and a boat launch.
Queer History Tours
To celebrate Pride Month, The Edmonton Queer History Project, with the support of Edmonton Downtown Business Association and the City of Edmonton, are pleased to offer walking AND ETS bus tours of Downtown’s queer history
