Staff Support

One area in which you can make a significant impact as a Reunion volunteer is outreach to your class. Telling folks that you're excited about Reunion and want to see them there is more impactful than any email the college could send!

  • Help write an email for your entire class for January. We need 2-3 members of your class to help write an email that will go to your entire class in January encouraging them to come back for Reunion. We've found these emails are more impactful when they are written by alumni. Here is some sample email language; this draft is due Monday, January 10.

  • Reach out to classmates directly. We've created a Reunion toolbox within MacDirect, the alumni directory, that will give you access to classmates' contact information (except for those who have asked us not to give it out). Use the toolbox to sign up to contact at least ten classmates about Reunion, and then reach out to them individually via email, text, social, or in-person.

  • Send postcards in November. We will send you pre-addressed and stamped postcards to send to the folks you want to see at Reunion! You will need to log into the Reunion toolbox and indicate which folks you want to contact for Reunion. You will receive postcards around November 5th, please mail out by November 15th.

We're planning two class-specific events for the 15th Reunion: a class gathering on Friday, and a class dinner on Saturday.

The class gathering is a chill happy hour-esque event without much structure - just a space where you and your classmates can connect and catch up, along with a cash bar. We would love your committee's help creating a Spotify playlist for this event (see below). One member of the planning committee should also speak briefly to welcome folks back to campus.

The class dinner is a more "formal" event with a sit-down dinner. We recommend having the whole committee stand and be recognized for the time and energy you put into Reunion. You should decide if you want to have any other program elements, including (but not limited to):

  • Showing your class slideshow with your playlist in the background

  • A greeting to your class from one or more committee members

  • An activity or game like trivia or bingo
