FAQ

With the uncertainty of COVID-19 in the future, planning for in-person gatherings continues to be fluid. If circumstances remain as they are now, we anticipate that we will ask Reunion attendees to wear well-fitted masks while indoors in public spaces and uphold our Mac Stays Safer Community Commitment practices regardless of vaccination status. As we learn more over the coming months, we will continue to make evidence-based updates to our policies and practices.

What will be different about Reunion 2023?

After a hugely successful Reunion 2022, we're expecting Reunion 2023 to be one of our largest. So while we've kept the most important Reunion traditions, including the Golden Scots Induction, Alumni Awards, and Great Mac Get Together (aka the Martini Tent), we've made some changes to the schedule to create more time and space for alumni to connect with each other.

What are the different Committee Structures for Reunion planning?

Outreach Reunion Committees (10th, 15th, 30th, 35th, 45th)

These opportunities will include spreading the word about Reunion through outreach campaigns, and planning your class dinner. There will be fewer meetings for these committees with most communications happening through email. If you would like to be more involved with program planning all committee members are invited to join the Program Reunion Board. Social media posts, emails, supporting giving campaigns, and personal outreach are the core functions of volunteers.

While the main driver of these campaigns is Reunion participation, we also know that they can be profound moments of connection across the years for classmates regardless of their ability to join Reunion 2023.

Milestone Reunion Committees (5th, 20th, 25th, 40th Cluster, 50th)

Outreach duties listed above, in addition these volunteers will plan one or more programs for their class.

Committee members will:

  • Identify classmates for speaking/panels

Who is someone that your class would be excited to hear from? Perhaps you know a classmate who wrote a book, or works in an interesting field, or is just a fascinating person.

  • Serve as an event host
Welcome Alumni to events, show them where to go and what to do, and answer any questions they may have about the event. You can reach Alumni Engagement staff if you have any questions.

If you are interested in giving your time and energy to make Reunion meaningful for your class, there are plenty of other opportunities to get involved. Please engage in our monthly Reunion volunteer projects between January and June 2023, and consider joining the Reunion Program Board.
