Community Youth Advance is a non-profit organization that relies on the contributions and collaboration of grants and and a variety of community partners and schools to bring vital resources and best practices to the learning experience, in addition to making the most efficient use of public resources.
Community Youth Advance out-of-school-time programs are funded by Maryland’s State Department of Education 21st Community Learning Centers (21stCCLC) grants. The purpose of the 21stCCLC program is to create community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities and other activities for children. "Research shows that during the hours of after school, juvenile crime triples – peaking from 3 to 4 p.m. The value of these programs is two-fold: crime prevention during this crucial time period and intervention for students who need additional assistance with academic needs."
Community Youth Advance out-of-school-time programs are funded by Maryland’s State Department of Education ARP Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ARP ESSER) Fund. These funds are provided to help safely reopen and sustain the same operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the Nation’s students.
Community Youth Advance out-of-school-time programs are funded by the New York Life Foundation's Aim High Program, brought by the Afterschool Alliance. This program supports and bolsters the ability of afterschool and summer learning programs to help prepare middle school students for success in high school, college, and life. In addition, these programs provide benefits to students that extend beyond academics, helping develop the whole young person—cognitively, socially, and emotionally.
