Rey's Day
This day is a newer one in the 4-4 classroom, but it will be here to stay!! I will forever dedicate October 6 to Rey, a former student who celebrated a successful stem cell transplant three years ago to treat Aplastic Anemia. We had a good conversation about the importance of donating blood, but I need to get Rey back in the classroom to share his story!!
10/13
National M&M's Day
4-4 celebrated the day by trying to beat out the Guinness Book of World Records of the most stacked M&M's. The students thought it was going to be a breeze when I told them the record was just 7 stacked M&M's. It was definitely harder than they thought, only stacking 2-3 and no more. The students were most excited to enjoy them after trying.
10/22
National Color Day
To celebrate all the colors in the world, we lined up in a rainbow. I think we look just like one. We also read The Day the Crayons Came Home because it is one of my favorite picture books.
10/25
World Spina Bifida Day
This day is important to me because my great-niece, Mila, was born with spina bifida. We talked about how she entered the world and has done so many amazing things despite some obstacles. I shared a few videos. The students learned that kids with spina bifida might have different challenges, but they should all definitely be accepted. Click the link to view the two links to learn a little bit more about spina bifida.

Eating Cheetos can make you money!!!! There is a Cheeto Museum in New York City that accepts Cheetos that look like certain things all the way from animals to people. 4-4 found their own, but they were too hungry to mail them to the museum. Our class voted that Deliah's elephant was the coolest of all!!

On this day in 1863, Abraham Lincoln delivered the famous "Gettysburg Address." Like so many of his speeches, it left an enormous impact in our history. My family traveled to Gettysburg and learned about the Battle of Gettysburg and all about Lincoln's words. The students will have the chance to check my vacation pics while I share my amazing experience.
12/05
National Cookie Day
There really is no better way to celebrate National Cookie Day than enjoying some milk and cookies. We agreed that Oreos aren't the best cookie, but they sure are a great match with milk.
01/13
