MUSE Night Out - Sept. 15, 2023
One of the first events of the year is the MUSE Night Out. This event is a social networking event held at PNC Park. SPSEA members network with other members and watch the Railriders baseball game.

Kappa Delta Pi induction is an event celebrating excellence in education. PSPEA and MUSE members that are exceeding in the Marywood education program are invited to the induction ceremony where they are recognized, honored, and welcomed to a group of distinguished educators. Graduating seniors are corded and honored at the ceremony.
Free Professional Headshots - Oct. 9, 2023
MUSE and SPSEA teamed up with Marywood University's Photography Club to sponsor free professional headshots for students in Marywood Education Department. Thank you to Julie Potter, President of MU Shutterbugs, for helping us with this event.
Open House - Oct. 28 & Nov. 11, 2023
Marywood SPSEA members work open house events. These events encourage perspective pacers to join the Marywood School of Education and in turn benefit the Scranton community through growing the field.
Marywood Involvement Fair - Sept. 6, 2023 & Jan. 25, 2024
Marywood SPSEA members attend the Marywood University Involvement Fair at the start of each semester. The Involvement fairs allow SPSEA students the chance to network with other education students, and share key events within the education department with more students, helping connect the entire School of Education.
Admitted Students Day - March 25, 2023
SPSEA members have the opportunity to meet committed School of Education students in July before the start of the fall semester. At Admitted Students Day, SPSEA members are able to form connections with incoming students, and help prepare them for their first semester as education students.
Advising Assistance - Oct. 4, 2023 & March 6, 2024
Prior to scheduling each semester, SPSEA members can meet with upperclassmen to discuss various course selections for the following semester. This provides students the chance to network with other education majors across the School of Education.
Dress for Success Events - March 8, 2023
Each year, SPSEA members take a trip to J. Crew in order to learn how to dress professionally inside the classroom. At J. Crew, SPSEA members are shown a presentation regarding professional dress, and how to incorporate business casual clothing into a wardrobe. SPSEA members are able to take the information shared during the presentation, and apply it to their wardrobe as pre-service teachers.
Friendship House - Feb. 29, 2024
Dr. Pesavento had Alex Hazzouri-- President and Chief Executive Offer of the Friendship House-- come talk to students about the community resources available through this program. As educators, it is vital we are aware of resources in our community that can help support our students when they are not in our classroom. Friendship House has numerous resources for counseling, mental health, advocacy, etc.
