Follow the four steps for data confirmation:
STEP 1: CONFIRM STUDENT DATA IN AERIES
Log into Aeries here. If this step is not completed, you will not receive a class placement on Registration Day. Instructions for data confirmation
STEP 2: READ/REVIEW SCHOOL POLICIES
School Rules: You must review the School Rules before school starts. They include information on attendance, our calendar, campus safety, general campus management, student health policies, dress code, our Voyager Values and student conduct expectations, parent organizations and involvement, our campus map and daily schedule, the class line-up and dismissal locations, electronics policy, lost and found, and more can all be found in our Student-Family Handbook.
Emergency Release Procedures: It is very important to review our Emergency Release procedures. In order to keep your child safe, include neighbors, local friends, and carpool partners on your child’s Aeries contact list. In an emergency, your child cannot be released to anyone not included on their contacts list.
Traffic/Walking Rules: You'll need to be able to familiarize yourself with the traffic rules around school. The Sheriff’s department will issue citations to violators on city streets. The policy for drop-off and pick-up on school property is: Do not stop until you reach the cars stopped in front of you. Keep Moving Forward Whenever Possible.
School Visitor Policy: Visitors must check in at the Main Office on campus. If you need to discuss attendance or go to the Health Office, you will be buzzed in.
Family Partnership Agreements: Read and agree to our dual immersion program's Family Partnership Agreements.
Nut Allergies: Nut Allergies can be life-threatening. Please do not send your child to school with nut products in his/her backpack. We want to provide a safe learning environment for everyone.
School Supplies: The PFA unanimously voted to allocate $14,000 from this year's available funds to purchase school supplies for all Sumac students for the 2026–2027 school year.
What does that mean for families? No school supply shopping this summer! Students will have the supplies they need waiting for them when they return to school in August. We're excited to offer this benefit to our families and grateful for the support that makes investments like this possible.
LVUSD Forward Learning Laptop Program: Information regarding our 1:1 laptop program for grades three through five, including Responsible Use Guidelines and Student Device Use Agreement.
STEP 3: PARENT FACULTY ASSOCIATION (PFA) and DIRECT DONATION DRIVE
Our PFA Board wants to welcome you and your child to Sumac L-Stem Elementary. The PFA will communicate with you through ParentSquare. There will be notices of special events, the family directory, fundraising, volunteering, and other items.
Volunteers: Please review the Volunteer Handbook and Acknowledgement Form to volunteer. Print out and provide the Acknowledgement Form to the office. Extra copies are available in the office.
PFA Direct Donation Drive:
Direct donation is our school’s top fundraiser. With your generous donations, the Sumac PFA funds many important aspects of your child’s education, including the PE teacher, STEM program, librarian, classroom aids, educational assemblies, teacher supplies, and more. With your donation, you are helping to enrich your student’s experience at Sumac Elementary!

The PFA Donation Drive is essential for generating funds for Campus Supervisors for campus safety, Instructional Assistants for additional classroom adult support, weekly physical education, technology, library books, student body support, classroom support, and supplies. If you have questions, please feel free to email treasurer_ar@sumacpfa.org.
STEP 4: COMPLETE MEAL APPLICATION
Even though lunch and breakfast are free again this year, all families need to complete the online application to take advantage of its other potential benefits (e.g., reduced bus pass fee).
