TRAFFIC AND WALKING INFORMATION - VERY IMPORTANT
Traffic Flow:
The Calmfield Ave. car loop entrance is the only entrance/exit for families. Do not use the staff parking lot.
Please do not arrive at the carloop 10 minutes before your child's dismissal time. Those who arrive early must queue up along the loop and pull all the way forward into the green curb zone. If too many people arrive early and cars back up onto Laro Ave. toward the park, this creates a hazard. Suggestion: If you arrive at the campus a couple of minutes after dismissal later, avoiding most of the pick-up rush, you can usually pull right into the school car loop.
Rules for Drivers:
Please respect and obey the staff who are directing traffic.
Please do not arrive at the carloop 10 minutes before your child's dismissal time.
Always pull forward through the loop. Traffic will back up if you leave space in front of you. KEEP MOVING FORWARD!
Students may not enter or exit cars until they pass the Multipurpose Room, even if the curb ahead is fully packed with cars.
Students should move quickly when entering and exiting cars and only use curbside doors. Do not exit a vehicle in the pull-through lane—it is dangerous! If your children cannot leave the car independently, please wait for school staff or student safety valets to assist with exiting the vehicle.
Drive all the way through the loop and exit appropriately.
Please never make a U-turn in front of the school. Use the car loop to turn around.
If you are in the pull-through lane, please drive cautiously. The safety of our children is in your hands.
Cautions:
Please do not wait in front of residential homes; we must be good neighbors.
Never block a neighbor's driveway.
When the crossing guard is walking students across the street, he or she must have both feet on the curb before you can move.
Rules for Walkers:
All walkers must cross at the designated crosswalks. Please cross with the crossing guard when the crossing guard is present.
All walkers must stay off homeowners' yards and respect property in our community.
If you pick your child up from Sumac Park, please ensure the teacher is aware.
