Fourth Grade students continue building on storytelling, collaborative intuition, spatial awareness and how to create, interpret, and tell a story using performance.
Group Activities- Circle games, ensemble building, story building, collaborative storytelling. Creative play- moving body in different ways, dramatizing stories, pantomime, and improvisation through guided and structured theatre games. Storytelling elements- beginning, middle, and end. Identify the structural elements of plot (exposition, climax, resolution, etc.) in a theatrical experience. Emotional exploration and identification- Historical and Cultural- Showing and exploring stories from history and other cultures.
Skills we explore: Vocal- expression and intonation. Kinesthetic: Using no words to communicate, listening and reacting, and tableau. Cognitive- imagination, process, and reflection. Use theatrical skills to dramatize and or improvise events and concepts from other curriculum areas
