Next Generation Learning Initiative
As part of this program, each student will either bring their own device or check one out from the library. Like textbooks or any other instructional materials, the District expects students to take responsible care of their device and, in the case of school owned devices, return it to the District in good condition and working order. For any device that is lost, stolen, broken, or otherwise damaged, the District will accept no liability, and will charge for repair costs as outlined in the Student Device Agreement.
As an option to protect against unexpected damage or loss, the District has partnered with Worth Avenue Group to provide a low-cost insurance solution for either personal or District-owned devices. This insurance is available for a period of 1-3 years and covers the following:
- Accidental Damage
- Cracked Screens
- Liquid Submersion
- Natural Disasters
- Power Surge by Lightning
This coverage is fully transferable, so if a student checks out a different District-owned device in a future year or a device is purchased after coverage has been obtained for a District-owned device, the policy can be transferred to the new device's serial number.
Coverage can be purchased at Worth Avenue Group's LVUSD Insurance Portal.
When requesting coverage, you will be asked for the model and serial number of your device. All devices are model number B115. The serial number can be located on the label on the back of the computer and begins with NX. See the image below.
