Birthdays

What do we do for birthdays?

Each child in our class will have his/her birthday celebrated with a special “birthday book”. We will write a note including a “wish picture” and present it to your child on his/her birthday (Summer birthdays will be recognized during the month of June).

Birthdays are celebrated at the end of the day (around 2:00) and take about 5 minutes. PARENTS ARE INVITED TO COME IN AND BE A GUEST READER FOR THEIR CHILD'S B-DAY. PLEASE EMAIL US TO LET US KNOW IF YOU WILL BE READING TO THE CLASS.

You are also welcome to stop in and just share the moment with your child, without reading to the class.

No food treats are allowed to celebrate birthdays. This is an LVUSD policy and there will be no exceptions. Please respect the rule and do not come to school with any food treats. We limit treats to special celebrations and class events.

If your child would like, he or she may bring in a small favor (pencil, sticker, eraser, etc.) for classmates in celebration of his/her birthday. Or sometimes, students have donated a book or favorite game to the class. This is NOT mandatory. If your child does not want to bring anything at all, that is OK too! :)

Our Wish Picture Book, prize box, singing, and other surprises make it a fun mini 5 minute celebration.

Thank you for following this policy.
