Competitions

Agoura KASMA students are able to compete in two different Sports Medicine Competitions:

AACI Regional and National Competitions

The American Academic Competition Institute offers a regional and national competition in which KASMA students compete yearly! Students compete in a written and practical exam that tests their knowledge of Sports Medicine. Last year in the regional competition at CSUN, Agoura placed second! From there, certain students have the option to move onto the National Competition which is online, and compete with teams across the country. AACI also has an Anatomage Table competition in which a smaller team of students compete to identify body parts and bony landmarks before the time runs out.

HOSA-Future Healthcare Professionals

The HOSA (Health Occupation Students of America) competition consists of FLC (Fall Leadership Conference), SLC (State Leadership Conference), and ILC (International Leadership Conference). Composed of numerous seminars, competitive events, and learning opportunities, HOSA is one of the most significant changes for KASMA students to learn more about the specific medical fields they are interested in. FLC is online near the beginning of the school year, allowing students to remotely explore seminars and interact with other students interested in medicine. In the spring, SLC is in-person, and the location switches each year. This year, SLC is in Anaheim! Multiple competitive events allow students to compete in whatever topic they are interested in. ILC continues from SLC, bringing students to an even larger stage!
