Strings

Beginning Strings is designed for the beginning music student. In this class students will learn either the violin, viola, cello or string bass. The course focuses on music literacy covering the basic elements of tone production, instrument care, musicianship, and reading music notation. The specific selection of instruments will be made in collaboration with the director during the first few weeks of school. The Beginning Strings experience will culminate in an evening concert performance during the fourth quarter of the school year.

Students will learn about different musical styles and continue to develop their technical skills. The students will also begin to cultivate their abilities to critically analyze their performances and the performances of others. Students who did not take strings at A.C.
