“Music education opens doors that help children pass from school into the world around them – a world of work, culture, intellectual activity, and human involvement. The future of our nation depends on providing our children with a complete education that includes music.”
– Gerald Ford, Former President of the United States
“Without music, life would be a mistake.”
- Friedrich Nietzsche
“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.”
- Plato

- are more likely to stay in school and graduate
- have a better sense of accountability
- get better grades
- score higher on SAT exams
…and they also have a great time learning music
The Importance of Music
Music is imperative in the education of children. It is not just an auditory luxury; it’s a way to enhance the human connection. Music education provides a branch of learning in which students will acquire a wide range of life skills. Every culture since the beginning of human history uses music to celebrate, inspire, worship, stimulate, and instill values and traditions.
As people create music they uncover their dreams, fears, and passions that cannot be articulated through verbal means. Music is an integral part of a well-rounded educational curriculum, building self-confidence, discipline, and integrity, while providing outstanding opportunities for self expression and creativeness.
Thank you for supporting your child in their new and exciting exploration and development of their musical talents and abilities.
