Creative Curriculum

Leavenworth Pre-K and K pilot teachers are using Creative Curriculum, a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that uses discovery and exploration as a way of learning.

Teachers will be able to provide individualized instruction as students grow in lifelong critical thinking skills through studies, which are hands-on, project-based investigations of topics relevant to students everyday experiences. Some pre-k studies include Clothes, Balls, Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle, Buildings, and Trees.

ReadyRosie is a simple tool for adult caregivers to:

• Hear what we are doing in the classroom

• Discover activities and games they can play that relate to classroom learning

• Have fun with their child through meaningful interactions and support the learning at school.

The best part is that each activity/game is modeled in a 2-minute video, so the adult caregiver and their child can watch together before playing the game! They will receive these videos and communication via text message and/or email each week.

The goal is for this to help with family engagement for our youngest kiddos and help with school readiness.
