Use this section of the Going Google site to find out about the new features added to Google Workspace over the last few months, and to watch videos to learn more about using them.
New Gmail Interface
There is a new user interface for the Gmail integrated workspace that is rolling out from February 2022. This user interface makes it even easier to switch between mail, chat and meet while showing or hiding your folder list as required. Labels will be easier to find in your Gmail inbox, and any current chat conversations will show as bubbles on the navigation bar so that you can return to them quickly and easily.
Appointment schedules to share available calendar time
If you need to share your availability for a meeting with a colleague, you can now do so without sharing your entire calendar. Appointment schedules allow you to share your free time between two specific dates - the person you share your schedule with will be able to select the meeting that suits their own time, even if they don’t have a Google account.
Join a Google Meet call from Docs, Sheets and Slides
You can now join a Google Meet call directly from Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. From the Google Meet icon, click on Join the call to quickly join and present a document, spreadsheet, or presentation to all attendees, allowing everyone in the meeting to collaborate while having a conversation.
Create discoverable chat spaces for anyone in the organisation to join
As well as creating restricted spaces in Google Chat that only specific people will be able to join, you can now create spaces that you can share with anyone in your organisation to join via a link.
