Mrs. Oshel

Hi!

I am Rebecca Oshel and I have been teaching since 2006. Prior to teaching, I was a stay at home mom to our two children, Zachary and Megan. I worked for Commerce Bank for ten years at their downtown location in the sales and services department prior to staying at home. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of Central Missouri in 2006, and I received my Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction degree from the University of Missouri in 2012. I have completed over thirty credit hours past my masters and plan on pursuing my doctorates degree soon.

I was new to the Lee's Summit School District in the 2017-18 school year; I taught in the Raymore-Peculiar School District for twelve years prior to coming here. I taught fifth grade and third grade and I must say, teaching first grade is by far my favorite!! We learn so much together in first grade and it is such a huge growth year.

I married my college sweetheart Dave in 1992 and we have two perfect, wonderful children together, Zachary and Megan. Zachary graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 2017 with a degree in Industrial and Occupational Safety and he is a safety project manager for Kiewit in San Angelo, Texas. He is a sports fanatic and loves everything outdoors. Our daughter Megan is a junior in college at Avila and she is in nursing school. She wants to be a travel nurse and see the world, as she loves to experience new things and see new places.

As a family we love to travel and attend sporting events together. I am a big STL Cardinals fan, and of course we love the Chiefs and the Royals!

Our only "baby" at home now is our thirteen year old Springer Spaniel Bristol. She is very spoiled and loved (as all dogs should be!).

I look forward to getting to know YOU this year and I know we will have a fantastic year together!!!
