Hello! My name is Ashley Brouillette. I have been teaching for nine years and couldn't imagine doing anything else. I began my teaching career in the Hickman Mills School District by teaching kindergarten for one year and then came to the Lee's Summit District where I moved up to first grade. This will be my 8th year at Prairie View and I'd say one of my favorite things is keeping in touch with my past students and watching them grow and flourish. It's hard to believe my first group of kids are 8th graders already!

I grew up in Raytown, MO where I attended Raytown South High School. I then went to Park University in Parkville, MO where I received a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. I returned to school and received a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Central Missouri in 2015. I also received a Specialist Degree in Elementary Mathematics through the University of Central Missouri in the Spring of 2018.

When it comes to my personal hobbies and interests, I enjoy being active and soaking up the fresh air and sunlight. Although I grew up playing softball from the age of five up through my freshman year of college, running is now what consumes a lot of my time. My students quickly learn about my love for running. I have ran multiple marathons including the 2017 Boston Marathon! What an incredible experience that was! I also help sponsor the PVE Running Club for 5th and 6th graders.

To wrap this up, I'll leave you with one of my favorite reminders: A child can teach an adult three things: to be happy for no reason, to always be curious, and to fight tirelessly for something.

I'm looking forward to another great year and I can't wait to work alongside a wonderful set of students and families!

Yes, kids love technology, but they also love Legos, scented markers,

handstands, books, and mud puddles.

It's all about balance.

Unless someone can look into the core of your heart and see the degree of your passion, or look into the depths of your soul and see the extent of your will, then they have no business telling you what you can or cannot achieve. Because while they may know the odds, they do not know you.
