A call to protect the natural shield of Luzon whilst preserving the rich life it shelters for generations to come.
also known as the “green backbone of Luzon,” is the longest mountain range in the Philippines, which has long been Luzon’s defense against destructive storms and a home for various living things.
However, it is now facing serious threats due to illegal logging, deforestation, mining, and massive infrastructure projects—harming the environment, wildlife, and even the communities that rely on the mountain range's protection.
We, as Filipinos and responsible caretakers of the earth, are called to protect the Sierra Madre just as it protects us. With that, this site aims to share what’s really happening, why the Sierra Madre matters to all of us, and how we can work together to protect it before it’s too late.
At the heart of it, we are just humans. We only live and depend on the environment that keeps us alive. The Sierra Madre has been protecting us from storms, floods, and other disasters for so long, yet we often forget to protect it back. Without the Sierra Madre, several communities would have been suffering countless disasters as our country is prone to them.
This site is meant to show and educate people about what's really happening, why this mountain range matters to all of us, and how we can all take part before it's too late. At the same time, be aware of how we can join protecting our home with our current abilities.
