7th Grade Drama
Students in 7th grade drama get to experiment with pantomime activities, reader's theater, improve, practice showing emotion and characters, script creation, set/costume design and do a project called "Found Object Costume Design (FOCD)." Students will use items they have around them, not purchased, to create a costume of their choice.
It is a semester long class and we spend time getting to know each other as students will work with all different people.
Their final will be a short scene that they will present to the class memorized and with costumes, props, etc.
8th Grade Drama
8th grade drama students will start the semester learning to work together and understand how to connect to the world using drama skills. They will have the opportunity to experiment with stage makeup (cuts and bruises, etc), drama games and improvisation, as well as put on a play at the end of the semester.
They learn about monologues and that assignment will be how the show is cast. There will be a student director, tech director, costume director and students who help with program design, etc. All students will have a role on stage and all students will be assigned to a crew. Students who have larger roles will have less to do on tech and vice versa.
When we have decided on the play, we will post the name of the show and the cast/crew list here!
