Junior High is full of exciting challenges, growing independence and new responsibilities. At times it can feel stressful to balance the demands of being a teenager and it is important to take time to understand our needs and build our own set of tools and strategies that help us cope and care for ourselves.
As our students progress into junior high, we would like to introduce them to different techniques to practice mindfulness, reflection, and self-regulation. This way they can discover and choose what might work best for them.
The techniques would be introduced once a month during ELO, a quick 10-15 minute lesson/description. Then they would be available to the students within the classroom setting for them to use as they choose.
