Course Information:
Course Title: Teacher Cadet
Course Description: This full year course is designed for students who have a strong interest in, or who are considering a career related to, the occupation of "teacher" at any age or grade level. Students will complete self-assessments, participate in individual and group projects, complete observations at various ages and stages of learning, and increase their understanding of themselves and others as "learners". The culminating event in this class is 50 hours of field experience at an area school where students will plan and deliver lessons under the supervision of a cooperating teacher. This is a fast paced academic elective course earning practical arts and English elective credits.
Field Experience provides students with the opportunity to supplement coursework with practical work experience related to their educational program. Students work under the immediate supervision of experienced personnel at the education facility and with the direct guidance of the Instructor.
