A Little About Me….
I started my first teaching job in a very small rural town in Southern Illinois with my shiny new "Home Economics" degree from Montana State University. After a few years and a bit of a winding career path, I was led back to teaching in Colorado and my family. Having been raised in the life of a corporate gypsy, I was ready to settle in one place. I stayed home from public education to raise my family for many years returning to teaching in 2002.
I taught Family and Consumer Sciences at Ponderosa High School and Sagewood Middle School in DCSD before moving to Highlands Ranch High School where my children were attending high school. Along the way, I earned my Master of Ed in Technology degree. I continued to teach Family and Consumer Sciences introducing Teacher Cadet to HRHS until I found myself fortunate enough to move to Littleton Public Schools in 2012. I taught concurrent enrollment Teacher Cadet and Early Childhood Education for our district CTE consortium housed at Ames and at ACC until the move in the fall of 2023 to the new EPIC Campus where Future Educator became one of the 7 pathways.
Serving as a Colorado state Teacher Cadet trainer, a state program lead, and CACTE treasurer (CTE's professional organization), I am committed to education advocacy and lifelong learning! I hope to instill that love of teaching in my students.
Beyond my teaching life, I treasure time with family (my husband, 2 adult daughters, and their hsubands, AND our joy beyond words, a 5-year-old grandson. We all live 15 minutes apart and 'do a lot of life' together - this Mama's dream! I love Saturday morning chats with girlfriends and my sister, dinner dates with friends, wetting a line to catch that elusive rainbow trout, conquering the never-ending house projects I dream up, loud music on road trips, and good black coffee and pecan pie.
Enough about me! I want to know about you. Come visit me in Rm 243 - email to schedule a time to meet and I'll treat you to a cup of coffee in our new EPIC Coffee Shop.
