Pathway Courses

The Future Educator Pathway is an innovative experiential program designed for students who have an interest in the field of education. The skills you master in teaching and learning will be helpful in college and/or career. Teacher Cadet and Early Childhood Education are year-long programs where students have the opportunity to work in the classroom alongside a master teacher as they "try out" teaching and also earn concurrent enrollment credit. Education Exploration is a semester course for students to jump into the workings of education from the perspective of teachers, administrators, special education professionals, and so many more. Students see what career opportunities await beyond the classroom and experience lessons within an elementary school, learn about learning and discover if they are the right person to make a difference in someone else’s life.

My Why I Teach

I'm one of the lucky ones! I discovered Career and Technical Educational (CTE) very early in my teaching career.  Although the name has changed through the years, CTE gave me the vehicle for the reason I wanted to teach. I've taught multiple subjects within the CTE field but all have provided experiential, hands-on, skills-based learning that I found so satisfying. I knew there were students who would find their way in life because of what they learned in my class. I found I could give students hope; hope for their future, confidence in their abilities, and dreams of possible careers. That excites me just talking about it! Real skills for real life!
