Conozca a Elizabeth

Mi nombre es Elizabeth Machado y nací y crecí en Caracas, Venezuela. Soy Ingeniero en Sistemas de la Universidad Metropolitana y MBA del IESA en Caracas. En 1998, obtuve una maestría en Finanzas de la Universidad de Denver y regresé a Venezuela. Durante los siguientes 14 años trabajé en Caracas en varios cargos en las áreas de finanzas corporativas y relaciones con inversionistas. En 2014, decidí mudarme a Denver con mi familia para obtener una maestría en marketing en la Universidad de Denver que obtuve en 2016.

Desde que me mudé a los Estados Unidos, siempre estuve especialmente apasionada en ayudar a otras familias, como la mía, a navegar la experiencia de la inmigración, razón por la cual decidí unirme a las Escuelas Públicas de Littleton en 2021. He estado trabajando en el preescolar The Village como Enlace Familiar desde entonces. En particular, ayudo a las familias de habla hispana en las conferencias de padres y maestros, el proceso de inscripción, la transferencia al Kindergarten, las reuniones de IEP y las comunicaciones diarias para mejorar su experiencia escolar. También traduzco al español todos los documentos, manuales y eventos escolares y  mantengo alianzas con organizaciones sin fines de lucro con el fin de brindar recursos a familias necesitadas, entre otras actividades. Intento cada día hacer una diferencia para nuestras familias que puedan sentirse abrumadas viviendo en un país diferente. Realmente disfruto hacerles la vida un poco mejor.

Actualmente resido en Highlands Ranch con mi esposo Ali y mis tres hijos María Emilia, Gustavo y Guillermo. En mi tiempo libre disfruto viajar y pasar tiempo con mi familia y amigos.

Meet Elizabeth

My name is Elizabeth Machado and I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. I have a Systems Engineer’s degree from the Universidad Metropolitana and an MBA from IESA in Caracas. In 1998, I got an MS Finance degree from the University of Denver and went back to Venezuela. For the next 14 years, I worked in Caracas in several positions in the corporate finance and investor relations areas. In 2014, I decided to move to Denver with my family to pursue an MS Marketing degree at the University of Denver that I obtained in 2016.

Since I moved to the United States, I became particularly passionate about helping other families, like mine, navigate the immigration experience, the reason why I decided to join the Littleton Public Schools in 2021. I have been working at The Village preschool as a Family Liaison since then. In particular, I assist Spanish-speaking families in parent teacher conferences, registration, transfer to kindergarten, IEP meetings and everyday activities in order to improve their school experience. I also translate to Spanish all school documents, handbooks and events and make alliances with nonprofit organizations in order to provide families in need with resources, among other activities. I try each day to make a difference for our families that might feel overwhelmed living in a different country. I really enjoy making their life a little bit brighter.

I currently reside in Highlands Ranch with my husband Ali and my three children Maria Emilia, Gustavo and Guillermo.  In my free time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family and friends.
