Mrs. Trig

Erin Trigonoplos

Hello! My name is Erin Trigonoplos, and I am excited for my second year at Dr. Justina Ford Elementary! This will be my eighth year in education, I was an instructional paraprofessional prior to obtaining my teaching license. I have taught fourth grade the previous 4 years and I love fourth grade as it is such a fun year of growth and achievement for students.

It is my goal to help your child be the best fourth grader they can be, and that will look different for everyone! In my classroom, we encourage each other and work to build a collaborative environment where each student’s passions and talents are welcome and valued. We will explore and create, have successes and failures, and grow together. I am a proponent of creative problem solving and cultivating critical thinking, as I believe these attributes will carry our students forward not only academically, but as contributing citizens to our communities.

My career path did not lead me directly to teaching from college, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, but I feel as though teaching has always been where I have wanted to be, I just took a longer time getting there than some! I have worked for Enterprise Rent a Car, worked in banking, run an at home day care, and coached competitive soccer. The wonderful thing about having these varied experiences is that I know exactly where I want to be: in the classroom.

When I am not teaching, I stay busy with my family. My husband and I have two girls, Emma who is 11 and Madelyn who is 9. We also have two cats that we just adore, Taiga and Laika. We enjoy traveling and being outdoors. We are a sports family and love supporting our Colorado teams! My family is from here, I grew up and graduated from Cherry Creek High School. And while I spent time away, I always knew Colorado was where I wanted to be and raise my family.

I believe that communication is incredibly important, so please do not hesitate to come talk with me. My door is always open and I welcome the opportunity to get to know you and your child. I am looking forward to the school year and thank you for sharing your child with me!
