Mrs. Shoup

Hello! My name is Katie Shoup, and I am so excited to be your child’s fourth grade teacher this year. This is my sixth year teaching fourth grade, and my first year at Dr. Justina Ford Elementary. I previously taught fourth grade at Eugene Field Elementary, also in Littleton. I love teaching fourth grade as students are learning more about themselves and the world around them. I can’t wait to be a facilitator in your child’s continued growth.

I am originally from Ohio where I attended The Ohio State University for my Bachelor of Arts Degree, then continued on to receive my Master’s of Education from Xavier University. After graduating, my husband and I packed our bags and moved to Colorado. I am so grateful to have found this community. I love teaching in a district that values high educational standards as well as social and emotional growth. I have a passion for creating an innovative classroom environment that thrives when students are engaged, challenged, and creating a path of learning that reaches every individual student.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy traveling, getting lost in a book, and being outside as much as possible. My husband and I love to go on adventures around the state with our three dogs. We have two very rambunctious huskies and a lazy miniature dachshund. We love to go hiking and explore new places.

Communication is a key component to creating the most successful environment for your child, so please do not hesitate to come talk with me. My door is always open. I am so excited to start this new school year as we continue to learn and grow together. It is going to be an awesome year!
