Objectives
students must understand the development of mass media from physical papers to digital versions: the dematerialisation of mass media
students must learn the following terms: gate keeper, fake news, echo chambers
students must understand how young people can make their voice heard in today’s media landscape
students must evolve their cooperation skills and be involved in cross-cultural meetings
Preparations
Homework: students had carried out a survey of minimum 100 respondents from each country concerning young people and their media habits. This survey was written by students in the first Mobilité in Poitiers november 2019.
Activities
Sunday
arrival in the evening; hosts received their guests in the airport
Monday:
welcome, icebreakers and students get-together
Danish students present Ørestad Gymnasium: a tour of the school and presentation of the didactic thoughts and architechture.
workshop with Bjarke Calvin, journalist and IT-entrepreneur: he presented the changes during his career as a journalist, which gave the students an understanding and insight into the fast development of media. He also presented his app Duckling, which the students tried to use XXX
students participate in a Danish class with their hosts.
Tuesday:
Presentation of “Ungdommens Ø” - “The Youth Island” (an island close to Copenhagen which was given by the Danish state to the scouts of Denmark and a shared ownership of all organisations for young people in Denmark. The students listened to a presentation by a representative from the island (unfortunately due to the season, a visit to the island was not possible).
Students presented their surveys and their conclusions concerning their findings.
Wednesday
Presentation of OEG-LIVE, which is the news channel at Oerestad Gymnasium run by the students. They have a live streamed program every 3rd week. The delegation was on a guided tour by two students from OEG-Live. (Example of live Assembly) (link to the assembly in which the students video is presented here)
Afterwards international groups had to produce their own video with the theme of being part of this Erasmus+ project. Their videos were sent to the group of students in OEG-live who chose the best one, which was shown in the live-streaming in March.
In the afternoon, the students were on tours in Copenhagen where the Danish students had organised various sightseeing tours and were guides themselves.
Thursday
Presentation of “Ungdommens Folkemøde”, a democratic festival for young people, created as an alternative to the one at Bornholm in June, which is the exam period. The festival was created by Ungdomsbureauet as they flet e need for the voice of young people to be raised and heard.
Students created an interactive timeline of media history.
Goodbye-party organised by the students
