Climate Club to the Forefront!
By Noemi Milam and Elvy Enghal
Hey, Leopards! It's a new school year, which means the next year of the Climate Club elective. This year, the Climate Club has been digging deeper into why we want to save our planet from pollution. As a Climate Club member, me and a few others decided to bring interviewing to the forefront. We interviewed Climate Club members who answered these questions: “Why did you join Climate Club?”, “Why do you want to help the environment?”, and “What does Climate Club do?”
Before we get started with the interviews, we would like to give a special thanks to the people who we have interviewed so far about why they chose Climate Club- Evie Singer (6th), Caroline Mullen (6th), and Gabriel de Gramont (8th). When asked, “Why did you join Climate Club?'' Evie answered, “I joined Climate Club because I like to make a difference and be in the action!” We asked Caroline the same thing, and she responded “I want to do this because the environment is important and whether you realize it or not it is not a part of our life, we are a part of its life.” We asked Gabriel- “What does Climate Club do?” and he said- “Climate club gets young people involved so they can not only make a difference now but they can make a difference in the future.”
In conclusion, Climate Club members are working day and night to fight climate change and help a better world! Climate Club really does dig deeper into the youth's perspective of the environment and ways we can fight it. We encourage anyone, everyone to join the fight against climate change! This could mean picking up trash, or going to a protest. No action is too small! This planet is our planet, so let's fight for it!
