Plagiarism, AI, and the Senior Project
All work submitted should be original and reflect your own thoughts, analysis, and writing. Original work is expected on all Senior Project assignments. Plagiarism, including copying from other students, the internet, or any other source without proper attribution, is strictly prohibited. Academic dishonesty such as cheating, copying homework, plagiarism (from peers or the internet), or unethical behavior will result in a strike and/or 0 on an assignment with no make-up opportunity. Persistent academic dishonesty may result in failure of the class and/or administrative referral with appropriate consequence. Use of artificial intelligence “AI” as a tool for research, outlining, or exemplification purposes is acceptable. However, use of AI for entire sentences or sections of any work passed off as one’s own is considered plagiarism, including the use of AI such as Grammarly for revision and editing. Student use of AI will be determined by the teacher’s subjective judgment after a comparison is made to a known original writing sample and cannot be contested.
